AMC Newport ruins Harry Potter

leave a comment »

I was already aware of the problem: movie theatres cutting corners by showing 2D movies on 3D screens.  You can read about it here.  It makes the image on the screen lose a lot of quality and light.

I was enjoying Harry Potter 7.5, until the battles inside Hogwarts started.  That’s when I noticed it: the movie seemed unreasonably dark.  I turned around and looked back, and sure enough: there were two pictures being projected.  Instead of the movie the producers made, I got a dim shadow of what I had paid to see.

Well, that’s the last time I go to see a movie at the AMC at Newport-on-the-Levee, in Newport, Kentucky.  Movies are expensive enough- I do expect to see the whole movie I paid for.
